Today’s happening can be qualified as one of best things that ever made me smile. I was talking with my Canada-based cousin, Phillippe a while ago. He told me that he plans to teach our grandmother how to use an iPad so he can buy one for her on Christmas. He plans to make her a Facebook account so our lola (tagalog word for grandmother) will be able to get in touch with us frequently. At the middle of our conversation, he let my lola took hold of his iPad and she started typing away.. look at what she said to me:

It read, “I am finished eating my food. I love you Rina. Regards to Van and John. Goodbye! ”
My heart instantly melted when I saw her message. I imagined her struggling to type just so she can say she loves me. Major awwwww.
I replied with, “We love you too, lola. Take care always. I will say hi to Van and John for you. Goodbye!”
It has been years since we last saw each other and I miss her terribly. in addition, she is not the mushy grandma who would say “I love you” all the time. This made her message all the more precious. Today is a heartwarming type of happiness day. Love it. 🙂

Today, my workmate Jade and I visited our new office neighbor-S & R. It is the famed warehouse club shopping center in the Philippines that offers low-priced quality goods in bulk. We went there to get their famous New york style pizzas. We had the Combo and Four Cheese variant which were enormous! And do not get me started on the taste (soooo yummy). At less than Php 100/slice, it is a great deal.

Since the store just opened yesterday, lines were traumatic but what the heck, we were in for a sinfully good dinner and I think we got what we came in for. Happy day. 🙂

It is a routine to ‘lend’ my son, Van to my in-laws once a week for at least 3 days. It is a way for him not to forget his grannies and aunties in my husband’s side. Also, this practice serves as a ‘breather’ from the usual mommy duties I am constantly faced with. Although it is quite tough for a mother to not see her child even for a day, I have learned to get used to it. But I cannot deny the fact that I am silently sufferring from the “missin’ feeling” every single time. Then I saw a Facebook notification tagging me into this photo:

My heart instantly melted when I saw this photo. He looks so adorable. 🙂 Then I realised how blessed I am to have such an angel in my life. Being away from him made me appreciate his value. I can’t wait for him to come back home tomorrow morning.

My husband and I decided to have an unusually indulgent breakfast today so after dropping off our son at my in-laws’ s house, we head to McDonald’s for some early ice cream treat. We had their Cookie butter and Merry berry Mcflurry from their new desserts collection. Both were yummy!

What is more delightful is the note the service crew sticked on our paper bag; it said “Taste sweet success today!” It was indeed a wonderful Monday morning! 🙂

Today is a very joyous day. My husband, son and I attended Coleen’s First Birthday at Jollibee where I was able to meet up my former workmates in the hospital. It served as a another mini reunion for us. Yeah, yeah, I know yesterday’s post sounds pretty much the same but today was a lot more fun because more people were able to come. It was heartwarming to see us all together in one place again. I have always referred my OLLH family as the best workmates ever simply because they truly are. With them, I have no pretensions, no setbacks, no negativities. They are the type of people who are always optimistic, happy, bubbly and cheerful. It is with them that I learned how to smile amidst pressure, laugh whilst busy at work and stay focused while still having fun. Way better than friends, they are family… we are family and we will always be. 🙂

Overall, the day was festive not only for the kids but for the kids at heart as well. More than a children’s party, this day was a fun celebration of friendship and life.

Something different came up today: a reunion with my former workmates in the hospital. This afternoon, I received an SMS from my co-nurse inviting me for dinner because one of our friends is back for her vacation. Of course, I would not pass up on the chance. After all, they are my first colleagues and I miss them so. Liza came back from Abu Dhabi to have her annual vacation. She treated us for a buffet dinner at Tramway where we had our stomachs stuffed with food, and our spirits filled with laughter and good cheer. It was nice to see them again. Most of us are now out of the hospital where we first met but the memories and friendship shall never be forgotten.

Yogurt Fruit Long Sticks
This week’s Kris Kringle theme is “Something Long”. I got a pack of yogurt fruit sticks. It was 50 pieces of fruit flavored, milky goodness. I felt like a kid as I open and eat it. I may have felt bad yesterday because I did not receive anything, but my friendly gift-giver made up for it big time today. It just goes to show that something better always awaits, no matter what the circumstance may be. 🙂
